Near the border between the states of Ceará and Rio Grande do Norte, the beaches here are surrounded by sand-dunes, palm trees and cliffs. The Icapui coastline has 15 beaches with tranquil waters with few waves, making it ideal for swimming. There are also many small fishing communities. Among the most popular beaches is Redonda, which has a rock wall in front of the sea, and Tremembé, Ponta Grossa and Peroba. There is the abundance of fish, shrimp and lobster.
